Hatyai and Krabi, a trip of sweet escape ;)
Hello everybody, you honeys and you sweeties have a good day! And i appreciate your time for reading my blog. Thank you so much and i love you! I would like to share my experinces doing totally unexpected short trip to hatyai and krabi,Thailand. It was a friend of mine who invited me to join the group of backpacker of 6 pax including me. And it turns out that this was one of the best moments that i treasured beacuse it was so fun given the fact that i dont know the other 4 friends of him. The group was enjoyful, making the trip full of laughters and excitements.
We took an express bus from puduraya KL to hatyai, departed at 11 pm. We arrived at the imigration around 6 am and i'll tell ya,the bus was speedy and smooth,i would be glad if all the buses are that speedy from kl-penang.Ini tak, terkemut kemut dari kajang-pudu-duta. Heol. We had some breakfast at hatyai,at small stall, and i had a mee sup and it was delicious. Of course the taste is different but delicious with clear soup and home-made mee.t It taste like pastas in clear spicy soup.
Moving on,we took 'tuk tuk',their local name for the taxi,to bus station, and later took a van to krabi.I tought it'll be like a 2-3 hours of journey but damn it was almost 6 hours! I'm too tired even for sleeping.Luckily a friend and myself seated at the front with the van driver.Fiuh.

We checked-in Aonang Backpacker for 3 days and 2 nights. The guesthouse was nice and clean. The dorms and rooms have airconds functioning from 6pm onwards. All girls, 4 of us was in the same room, and it was rm 20 per night. So freaking cheap right? Yeah,i think thailand's rate for hotels is cheaper.Because we later checked in BP hotels and paid rm 37 for one night. It is a hotel, not a guesthouse, with 3-4 stars level maybe? The Aonang Backpacker was almost a full-house at night when all the foreign traveller return from the day,its quite early i noticed.Around 9pm and the street stalls were starting to close.

And not wasting time,we rented scooters provided by the guest house and took a ride along the roads near the sea shore. Krabi is nice,it's living. And we dont need to wory about pick-pockets,but not in hatyai. We bought meals, nasi putih, ayam goreng, somtam, tomyam and others i could not remember. We had a picnic at the seashore! p/s:Somtam is kerabu mangga. We continued our ride after that and by the night,we arrived at krabi's night market.I can feel that the road was a long distance from our guesthouse to the market. But it worth it,riding with a scooter at dusk with a group of friends along the village road at a place that no one knows about you, i love that.

There were so much variety of souveniers and foods at the market.I tried takoyaki, which i never tried in malaysia, and it was super duper delicous and cheesy! If i were going back to the market,i'll definitely search for the stall again.Actually, the prices of the goods and foods there are the same as in malaysia, except their currency is lower from ours, but the rate of the pricing is basically the same. For example, nasi goreng pataya is rm 5 in malaysia,it'll be 50 baht in thailand. The one thing in my opinion is cheaper is their hotels or guesthouse rate! ;)

The next day we went to Phi Phi Island! We bought a package and did some bargain a day before, that was when we took a ride by the seashore. There were a lot of agencies and shops selling their packages there.Along with the restaurants and souveniers shops and other guesthouse by the road.As i said,Krabi lives! The package provide the transportation (of course by tuk tuk, this time was a big tuk tuk) from any guesthouses to a place near their boat at the sea. After some bargain,we got the package for 930 bath per person which is equivalent to rm 93. The original price was 130++ baht. That was the best price after some comparison with other stores.

The package had us went to Maya beach,Bamboo beach,Phi Phi island where we had our lunch and 2 spots of snorkeling and a boat ride to see boat-view around viking cave. How it was? I can't describe, they were so beautiful, magnificient like some sort of magic. The sea sand was so delicate that you fell like stepping on soft carpet.Hah! Here are some pictures you can see yourself.

As for the lunch provided at Phi Phi Island,It was buffet style,i didn't wait long,i ate so much. Yes,I ate so much. Nasi putih, tomyam, fish fillet, spagetti bologneese,of course some fruits and many others. There were delicious, not sure if it was because we were hungry or else. But i really have my stomach filled before we continued snorkelling after that. And not to forget their marine life are mesmerizing, eventhough i'm a bit taken a back looking at the depth of the sea water.

For additional information,we did not brought our changing outfits for water activities together along that day.And i suggest, you dont need to. Your outfits will get wet-damp-dry and then wet again all day long.haha. And not to forget, the journey from krabi's mainland to the Phi Phi Island and other stops were quite long,so another reasons why you dont need a changing outfits as it will dry out on boat upon reaching destination. And careful when you are using the agent's snorkelling or diving accesories, lose them and you need to pay. A google for about 1500 baht which is rm 150. :(
All the activities ended at the evening and we have a dinner at small street shops later at night.
Day 3,we packed up for hatyai that morning, sad to leave the guesthouse with good service and hosting and also all the handsome mat sallehs. We took tuk tuk again to the bus station near krabi town near the night market we had had been to and the fares was 60 baht per person. And then hopped on bus and we were lucky beacuse the bus was in its way departing at that time and the fare was 200 baht per person. And again,a long way from krabi to hatyai i am sooo tired even my eyes were tired to sleep again oh my god soo my head were dizzy having seated at the most back oh my god so thirsty and tadaa! Arrived at hatyai at 6++pm.

We checked in at BP hotels,2 person per room with king bed and nice and comfortable room. Out again to Songkhla floating night market.I bought a refreshing orange juice kept in a clay container since i was thirsty, from an aunt selling it on her boat. Not many small boats were having their business on water, there were many others on land.Unique and edible stuffs can be found.Hehe.Looking for edible stuff,we took the same tuk tuk to a famous spot for halal foods near Songkhla but i could not remember the name.We had a chit chating and laughing while eating there. And continue them back in hotels before sleeping.Hiuu, what a day!
Day 4,we packed up our bags and headed out for street leisuring.Buying and eating stuffs from stall to stall.Walking around Hatyai town. Some of the locals know the common tongue but some of them dont. But still, the business are possible. From what i observed, the locals at hatyai are more kind(?) and were still gonna treat you as a nice and respectful customer even if you did some bargain. Not a common sight in Krabi.Maybe it is affected by the numbers of tourist there.Krabi got so many tourist that the shop owners must have been loathe to do business.Haha!
Our train departed at 4.45 pm and we walked to the Hatyai train station. It was a short walking distance.Having some nice experinces to be kept and we travelled back to Malaysia. Instead of hopping off at KL sentral,i hopped off at Butterworth, again unexpectedly with a friend and decided to finsih off the holidays at home.Hmm..you should see my parents' face when they see me at the front door that morning.

What an escape,i dont even have a pasport untill a day before we were gone to Thailand. Thanks Kimi for inviting me and thanks to all of his friends for their supportiveness and enjoyful side making me not-really-shy to tag along.Hihi.Overall, Krabi and Hatyai are worth places to travel given a limited budget for a student like me.Still, those places offer a wordless sight and experinces.I spent only about rm 450++ overall for the trip.
Actually, there are some certain events during the trip that i would like to share with details.Maybe because they are fun and meaningful for me,but i will in next post. :)
See the next post ya!
